====== Shutting Down the System ======

You can shutdown the system by typing:

# halt
</code>

To power off the machine, you can also enter:

# poweroff
</code>

If you wish to reboot the machine, you can enter:

# reboot
</code>

Alternatively, you can use the **shutdown** command:

# shutdown <flag> now
</code>
where **<flag>** is one of:
  * -h: to halt
  * -p: to poweroff
  * -r: to reboot
