You can shutdown the system by typing:
shutdown
You will be returned to the boot monitor. To power off the machine, you can enter:
off
Alternatively, if you do not wish to drop back to the boot monitor, you can enter:
shutdown -x off
If you wish to reboot the machine, you can enter:
shutdown -R now
